I might be thinking too far into this, but I can’t stop thinking about the 3-14-hs audio where Howdy is selling Sally “instant mashed potatoes,” which are soap flakes. We also know that she gets “bread,” and he mutters “sponge” to himself. Her “cereal” is woodchips and sawdust. I heard someone mention that he could be some sort of con - but I don’t think that’s the case. I think this is a glimpse into Howdy’s level of sentience at the very least.
These muppets don’t need to eat. Howdy is fully aware of the difference between these “foods” and what they actually are. Do the other neighbors comprehend what they buy are essentially stage-props? Are they completely aware, or is this like a “We Happy Few” thing where they’re seeing their world through a different lense? If they’re not aware, why is Howdy so chill with it?? Thoughts??

(Is it bad that I have two watermarks?? I just can’t decide what to mark my stuff by if my user is lilorain but my alias is Worm! Oh well!)
I didn`t notised the eye-hole in a vinyl record until my friend had pointed out this…I think i need new glasses `cause he noticed it on the first one, and here I am eight records later and didn’t even pay attention while looking in a dark parts of pages -༼;´༎ຶ ༎ຶ༽-
I know a lot of people have interpreted Wally’s character as this evil mastermind who just wants to cause chaos and who shouldn’t be trusted, but when I listen to these “Answer” audios all I hear is a very sad and lonely person who’s struggling with the unique sensation of gaining sentience for the first time.
Like this little puppet guy has woken up, and he’s probably the only one of his friends who are “awake” right now. So he goes searching desperately in his world for any kind of proof that there are other people like him, people he can befriend and connect with who will know what this whole “gaining sentience” thing is like. And he does find someone! He finds “you”.
But he can’t talk to “you” ever, “you” never respond. He can see “you”, and “you” can even see him. But neither of you can actually talk to one another, like a phone that only works one way. And like how he doesn’t understand sentience, he doesn’t know what’s stopping “you” from talking to him. Wally to me is like a kid who’s just experiencing a really new thing for the first time, and he’s found someone who he can relate to possibly, but that person seemingly wants nothing to do with him.
